Liev Schreiber
Isaac Liev Schreiber (born October 4, 1967 in San Francisco , California ) is an American actor , producer, director and screenwriter. He was best known in the late 1990s and early 2000s starring in various independent films and later in mainstream Hollywood films such as The Scream Tetralogy and films such as The Attack , X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Salt . Schreiber is also a well-respected stage actor who has starred in various Broadway productions , winning a Tony Award in 2005.
Life
Liev Schreiber is the son of the theater actor Tell Carroll and his wife Heather Schreiber, b. Milgram. After he was one year old , the family moved to Canada , from the age of five he lived in New York City . His mother now lives in an ashram in Virginia . When Liev Schreiber was a child, she forbade him to see color films. This is how Charlie Chaplin became his favorite actor.
The half-brother Pablo Schreiber , who also works as an actor, emerged from a later relationship of his father .
Career
Schreiber began acting at Hampshire College in Amherst , Massachusetts . In 1992 he graduated from Yale University School of Drama . He also attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London .
At first he was only given minor roles. He celebrated his first big success in the horror film Scream! and later in the sequels Scream 2 and Scream 3 . Other roles included Orson Welles in Citizen Kane - for which he received both an Emmy and a Golden Globe nomination - and as Laertes in the film version of Shakespeare's Hamlet .
In 2005 Schreiber made his directorial debut with the film adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's debut novel Everything is enlightened . In 2006 he was for four episodes in the television series CSI: To see the perpetrators on the trail . Since 2004 he has worked in successful cinema productions such as The Manchurian Candidate (2004), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and Salt (2010).
Private
Schreiber was in a relationship with fellow actor Naomi Watts from 2005 to 2016 . They have two sons together (born in 2007 and 2008).
