action

Nathan Flomm is the head of marketing at an emerging company developing an electric car. When his boss presents the name of the vehicle to Will Haney, Nathan falls out with him. In the dispute, Nathan quits and at the same time gives back his company shares. Shortly afterwards, the car was a great success. If Nathan had kept his shares, he would now be a multi-billionaire. Instead, he is known nationwide as a failure who failed to see the signs of the times through television programs and magazines such as Time Magazine . He is mocked in the street and his wife leaves him.

Ten years later, Nathan shaved off his long hair and beard, took an elderly care job on Martha's Vineyard and lives under the false identity of Rolly DaVore.

When Will Haney moves to the island to live with his wife Rhonda in a large mansion, Nathan's thirst for revenge is awakened. Together with his friend Frank, his acquaintance Joe Stumpo and his assistant Rags, he plans to blow up the property. With the help of McKenzie's construction company, he smuggles his way as a worker to the unfinished property, where he is not recognized by the client due to his external changes. He gets on so well with his wife Rhonda that he spends free time with her at a festival. Nathan forges a new plan: Rhonda falls in love with him, divorces Haney, receives half of the fortune and marries Nathan, who receives part of the fortune. The planned demolition is canceled.

Will Haney is terminally ill and will soon die. That's why he's hired a private detective to find Nathan. He would like to retrospectively pay him his company shares, which would make him a rich man.

Nathan, of the rumors that his ex-girlfriend Wendy would have at a Chicago some members of the band concert a blow , will get to the bottom, zerstreitet with Rhonda. The old plan to blow up the house is being revisited. Meanwhile, word has got around that Rolly is actually the famous failure Nathan Flomm. Will Haney also hears this, whereupon he promises Nathan his shares.

In a panic, Nathan tries to keep his colleagues from blowing up the house, but is too late. Nathan and his helpers were sent to prison for three years. However, Nathan lives on the island as a respected citizen after his sentence.
