Alec Berg is an American film producer , film director and screenwriter of Swedish descent. He became known through his work on the sitcom Seinfeld , Der Dictator , Eurotrip and Big Sharks - Small Fish .

Life

Berg began his career in 1991 when he was writing the screenplay for the television film MTV, Give Me Back My Life: A Harvard Lampoon Parody . He also wrote the script for an episode of the television series 4x Herman , which aired in 1994. In the same year he got into the US sitcom Seinfeld . There he worked as a screenwriter and story editor . 1998 ended his work on the sitcom. From 1994 he was also involved in the US late night show Late Night with Conan O'Brien , which is named after the presenter Conan O'Brien . In 2009, after he was involved in a total of 13 episodes, the collaboration there ended. In 1995 he also worked as a screenwriter for the American animation series The Moxy Show . He was also involved in the production of a screenwriter for a special broadcast about the 68th Academy Awards . He played his first and so far only role as an actor in 1999 in the US film Best Laid Plans . Together with David Mandel and Jeff Schaffner , he was responsible for the script for the US comedy A Kater Makes Theater in 2003 . In 2004 he was involved as a film producer on the film Eurotrip . In the animated film Big Sharks - Small Fish , which was released in 2004, he was responsible for the dialogues. He then worked on the production of the series Lass es, Larry! involved. First in 2005 and then between 2007 and 2011. In 2012 he worked as a screenwriter on the film The Dictator . He also worked on the soundtrack . In 2013 he wrote the script for the television movie Clear History: Clear History . He worked as a film director on the comedy series New Girl . Between 2014 and 2015 he was the scriptwriter for the US comedy series Silicon Valley . He was also involved in this production as an executive producer in 2014 .

Nominations and Awards

Berg was nominated for a total of 14 Primetime Emmy Awards until 2018 , but won none. This also applies to the PGA Awards , for which he has already been nominated six times. All three nominations went to the series Leave it, Larry! and Silicon Valley back. In 2004, together with David Mandel and Jeff Schaffer, he was nominated for the Golden Raspberry for the film Ein Kater macht Theater in the Worst Screenplay (worst screenplay) category. This negative award was instead given to the film Love with Risk - Gigli . By 2018 he was nominated five times for the series Silicon Valley for the Writers Guild of America Awards . He had previously been nominated twice for the award. However, he didn't win a single one.
