action
The gangster Louis hires the handsome petty criminal Larry Gigli, an outwardly raw, but basically sensitive and considerate guy of simple origin, with the kidnapping of Brian, the mentally retarded brother of a public prosecutor. The purpose of the kidnapping is to get the prosecutor to give in on a case where the criminal Starkman is awaiting trial of his charges. Gigli (pronounced like "Chieli") succeeds in kidnapping Brian by promising him to fulfill his heart's desire to take him to the location of Baywatch , whereupon he accommodates Brian in his apartment.
A short time later the doorbell rings and the petty criminal “Ricki” joins them, whom Louis hired without Gigli's knowledge so that nothing can go wrong. Gigli, who immediately looks at Ricki and hopes for a hot night of love with her (in his eyes he is the "bull", she the "cow"), has to find out from Ricki that she is a lesbian. It gradually turns out that Ricki also has a straight side, which means that the (predominantly) lesbian Ricki feels so drawn to Gigli that she even sleeps with him. In a short scene they also get a visit from Detective Stanley Jakobellis, who tries to find out Brian's whereabouts (while Brian is quietly in the next room), and from Robin, Ricki's ex-lover, who wants Ricki back at all costs which, however, does not succeed.
When Louis, who cannot enforce his demands against the prosecutor, now demands that Brian's thumb be cut off and sent to the authorities, Gigli and Ricki, who have now taken Brian in their hearts, decide to send the thumb of a dead man instead They cut off the one in a hospital autopsy room. It soon turns out that the fingerprint does not match Brian, which leads the completely unscrupulous Starkman to order Louis, Gigli and Ricki to his villa, where he shoots Louis without further ado. Gigli and Ricki manage to leave Starkman's house unscathed under the pretext of wanting to finally get rid of Brian. They pick up Brian and make their way to bring him back to his brother's home. On the way, however, they stop at Baywatch Beach, where filming for the series is taking place. The overjoyed Brian succeeds in mingling with the extras, speaking to one of the extras and dancing with everyone.
Gigli and Ricki have to go into hiding in order not to be found by Starkman. As a token of his affection, Gigli gives Ricki his car. Ricki sits down with Gigli in the car and lays his head on her shoulder. She notes that Gigli Mascara would look good - Gigli realizes that the relationship has suddenly reversed: She is now the “bull”, he is the “cow”. Ricki wants to stay a lesbian, but promises to call Gigli first in case she wants to cross the border. Ricki wants to take Gigli with him at least to the city limits. The two drive together on the motorway towards the horizon.
