Billy Weber

William "Billy" Weber (* in Los Angeles , California ) is an American film editor who also has a project as a film director .

Life

Weber worked three times as an editor for the American filmmaker Terrence Malick . In the 1970s, for example, he edited Badlands - Zerschossene Träume and In der Glut des Südens , which became his first project in which he was responsible for editing the film . On his last edit for Der schmale Grat , he worked on the film with several other editors. Four editing stations were used (usually one or a maximum of two) to cut the amount of raw material rotated to 170 minutes. As a reward for this work, an Oscar nomination for best editing jumped out in 1999 . A fourth joint project will appear in 2011 with The Tree of Life .

Josh and SAM from 1993 is the first and so far only film directed by Weber.
