Josh and SAM is an American youth film from 1993. Director Billy Weber describes the adventures of two siblings who run away from home.
action
Josh is dissatisfied with his life and suffers from his parents' divorce. His father lives in Florida with a new family, and his mother cares more about her boyfriend than Josh and his brother Sam. Eight year old Sam is his only ally and has difficulties dealing with other children himself. When the plane that is supposed to take them both home to California has to make a stopover, Josh persuades Sam that it is a cloned fighting machine and that it was sold by his parents to the United States Department of Defense to be used as a child soldier in a child war in Africa.
Sam runs away to get to Canada , where Josh says the underground is. On their odyssey they experience numerous adventures that support Sam's firm belief in Josh's lies, even when Josh tells him the truth. He considers himself inviolable and is encouraged to do more and more incredible deeds.
criticism
According to the lexicon of international films , the film is "a road movie that is as enjoyable as it is exciting, and that convincingly conveys the very constructed plot". “Convincing” are also “the young main actors” and “the staging is excellent, which never ignores the child's perspective”.
