The 2005 Golden Razzie Awards (25th Annual Razzie Awards) was presented on February 26, 2005, the eve of the Academy Awards at the Ivar Theater in Hollywood . On the occasion of the 25th award, a number of additional prizes were awarded which cover aspects that cannot be taken into account in the annual awards.
Most of the awards went to the films Catwoman and Fahrenheit 9/11 , each with four trophies. Catwoman was also voted the worst film of the year . Catwoman had also received the most nominations in advance.
For the first time in the history of the Golden Raspberry, a film was awarded that had not previously been panned by the critics or a financial flop ( Fahrenheit 9/11 ). Nominations for this film went to high-ranking US politicians ( George W. Bush , Condoleezza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld ) for their misconduct in relation to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and the Iraq war . Even Britney Spears received for her statement - they trust George W. Bush - in the film is also a Golden Raspberry.
Halle Berry also caused a stir, picking up her award in person and giving a acceptance speech during the award ceremony in which she parodied her Oscar speech from 2002. Most recently, in 2002, Tom Green personally received his award for Freddy Got Fingered .
