Moritz Borman (* 1955 ) is a German film producer .

Life

Moritz Borman was the managing director of Munich-based IM Internationalmedia AG , one of the world's largest independent film production companies at the time . Borman's productions include a. Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines (2003), The Life of David Gale (2003) and also K-19 - Showdown in the Depth (2002). He worked several times with the director Oliver Stone .

Borman began his career in 1970 as a producer and director for German television. In 1977 Borman moved to Los Angeles , where he also shot commercials while studying at the American Film Institute . In 1989 he was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize for the film Georg Elser - One from Germany .

Since 1997 he has been Co-Chairman of the subsidiaries Pacifica and Intermedia, LA, since 2000 Deputy Chairman of IM Internationalmedia AG, since March 2002 Chairman of the Management Board of IM AG and CEO of Pacifica and Intermedia.

In 2016 he and Philip Schulz-Deyle received the Bavarian Film Award for Snowden .

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year .
