action

Hollywood star Joan Crawford is a control freak who expects perfection and cleanliness from his environment. For her work at MGM Studios , she gets up at 4:00 a.m. and undergoes a strict ritual of personal hygiene. Occasionally she is uncontrollable towards her servants.

She has a relationship with lawyer Gregg Savitt. Your career is on the decline. She adopts the girl Christina and later the boy Christopher. Joan showered her daughter with luxury, but on the other hand was very strict with her.

Christina rebels against the mother, who emotionally hurts her daughter. A guerrilla war begins between mother and daughter that takes on absurd forms.

Joan breaks up with Gregg and develops abnormal aggression. After the separation, she cuts Gregg out of all the photos they shared. She also develops aggression towards her daughter, which also turns into physical violence. Joan later sends Christina to Chadwick School . When Joan later humiliates her daughter in the presence of a reporter, she asks her adoptive mother why she adopted her in the first place. Then Joan tells her that it was for publicity reasons.

Joan sends Christina to the Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy ; Christina lives here like in a prison without contact with the outside world. Joan marries Alfred Steele , CEO of Pepsi-Cola , moves to New York City . There she lets him stand her. Christina moves to Manhattan after graduation , where she starred in a soap opera. In 1977 Joan dies. Christina and Christopher learn that their mother has disinherited them. Christopher says that the mother had the last word again. Christina doubts this statement.
