Diana Scarwid

Diana Scarwid (born August 27, 1955 in Savannah , Georgia ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Scarwid moved to New York City at the age of 17 to become an actress. She completed u. a. New York's Pace University and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts .

Scarwid made her debut in an episode of the 1976 television series Starsky & Hutch . In the drama Pretty Baby (1978), her first feature film, she starred opposite Brooke Shields and Susan Sarandon . For the role in Richard Donner 's drama Max's Bar (1980) , she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1981. Her role in the film drama My Dear Raven Mother (1981), in which she played the adult Christina Crawford alongside Faye Dunaway , earned her the Golden Raspberry in 1982 . She received a nomination for the Golden Raspberry for the role in the SF film The Secret of Centerville (1983).

In the drama Extremities (1986) she played the role of Terry , the roommate of Marjorie ( Farrah Fawcett ), who is molested by Joe ( James Russo ). She was nominated for an Emmy in 1996 for the role in the television drama Truman: The Man Who Made History (1995), in which she played alongside Gary Sinise . In the thriller Shadow of Truth (2000) she played alongside Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer . For this role she was nominated for the 2001 Blockbuster Entertainment Award . In the 2000s she was mainly seen in television productions. So appeared in the 2004 television series Wonderfalls . She also often plays guest roles in series such as Lost and Prison Break .

Scarwid has been with Dr. Eric Sheinbart is married and has two children.
