Extremities is an American drama from 1986 . It was directed by Robert M. Young and written by William Mastrosimone based on his play from 1982. The main character was Farrah Fawcett .

action

Marjorie, who works in a museum, shares the apartment with two other women. One night she is attacked in her car by Joe who tries to rape her, which fails. Marjorie can escape. However, the perpetrator comes into possession of their identification documents during the fight.

Marjorie fears another attack and turns to the police, who do not want to help her. She hears there is no incriminating evidence against Joe.

Joe ambushes Marjorie in her apartment and beats her up. She manages to spray insect spray in the eyes of the perpetrator. She overwhelms and captivates him. At first she wants to flee in the car, but the car does not start. She goes back into the house and locks Joe in with a grate in the living room fireplace.

When the roommate Terry arrives, the women discuss what to do with Joe who is tied up. Marjorie fears further attacks and wants to kill him and bury him in the garden, which shocks Terry.

Patricia joins them. Finally the women call the police.

Reviews

Pat Graham wrote in the Chicago Reader that there are no flesh and blood characters in the film . She criticized the script and the direction.

The production was described as solid on prisma.de , and the portrayal by Farrah Fawcett was praised. It was criticized that the film “does not do justice” to the problem of rape.
