Philip Baker Hall (born September 10, 1931 in Toledo , Ohio ) is an American film actor .
Life
Baker Hall has regularly played mostly minor roles in US cinema and television films since 1970. It was only in old age that he became better known to a large audience, when he starred in one of the leading roles in Paul Thomas Anderson's film Magnolia in 1999. In this film he played the TV presenter Jimmy Gator with cancer.
