Yevgeny Vladimirov

Yevgeny Jurjewitsch Vladimirov ( Russian Евгений Юрьевич Владимиров ; English Evgeny Vladimirov ; born January 20, 1957 in Alma-Ata ) is a Kazakh chess player and coach .

Life

In 1974 he finished second behind Jonathan Mestel at the unofficial U17 youth world championship in Pont-Sainte-Maxence . In January 1977 he finished third at the U20 European Youth Championship in Groningen . In 1982 he received the title of International Master . He won tournaments in Tashkent in 1987 and Frunze in 1988, today's Bishkek. In 1989 he received the grandmaster title .

In the 1986 world championship match between Karpov and Kasparov , he seconded Kasparov. After Kasparov had lost three games in a row (games 17 to 19), he accused Vladimirov of working as a spy for Karpov's team, but this could never be proven. Kasparov was known to like to see the reasons for defeat outside of himself.

He trained Indian young talents such as P. Harikrishna and Parimarjan Negi , and was also the coach of the Indian team at the 2002 Chess Olympiad in Bled . He also trains the Kazakh national team. He has been FIDE Senior Trainer since 2004.

Its Elo rating is 2601 (as of December 2014). This would put him in second place in the Kazakh Elo ranking, which he had topped in January 2008. However, he is listed as inactive because he did not play an Elo-rated game after the chess competitions of the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou . His highest rating to date was 2628 in July 2004.

National team

With the Kazakh national team Vladimirov took part in the 2000 Chess Olympiad , the Asian team championships in 1993 and 1999 and the chess competitions of the 2010 Asian Games. He won the Asian team championship in 1993 with the team, at the Asian team championship in 1999 he reached second place with the team and third place on the top board in the individual ranking.

Vladimirov played for CSKA Moscow , with whom he became Soviet club champion in 1984, won the European Club Cup in 1986, 1988 and 1990 and also took part in the Russian team championship in 1994. At the Russian team championship in 2001 he competed for ShK Tomsk .
