Parimarjan Negi (born February 9, 1993 in New Delhi ) is an Indian chess master with the title of Grand Master .
Career
Negi learned the rules of chess when he was four and a half years old. In 2002 he was U10 Asian champion in Tehran , and in 2003 he won the U10 Commonwealth Championship. After meeting standards in Hoogeveen 2005, Dubai 2005 and Sort 2005, he was named the world's youngest international champion in April 2006 . He achieved grandmaster standards in Hastings 2005/06, at the Parsvnath tournament in his hometown of New Delhi in January 2006 and finally in Satka (Russia, Chelyabinsk region) in June 2006. He was thus at the age of 13 years and 142 days of that time youngest grandmaster in the world and thus replaced the Norwegian Magnus Carlsen . After the then Ukrainian (now Russian) Sergei Karjakin, Negi is the second youngest grandmaster in the history of chess. Negi's coaches are Grand Master Yevgeny Vladimirov from Kazakhstan and the Indian International Master Vishal Sareen.
In May 2012, Negi won the 11th Asian championship in Ho Chi Minh City with 7 points from 9 games thanks to a better score in front of Yu Yangyi with the same number of points .
National team
Negi took part in the 2012 and 2014 Chess Olympiads with the Indian team and came third in 2014. He also participated in the 2011 World Team Championships and the 2009, 2012 and 2014 Asian Team Championships. In 2009 he won with India, while he finished second in 2012 and 2014. In the individual ranking he won on the fourth board in 2009 and on the third board in 2012, and came second on the fourth board in 2014.

In the German federal chess league, Negi played in the 2008/09 season and from 2010 to 2014 for Sportfreunde Katernberg . In the Belgian interclubs he played from 2010 to 2013 for KSK Rochade Eupen-Kelmis , in the Chinese team championship 2012 for Zhejiang Yinzhou. In Spain, Negi has played for CA Solvay Torrelavega since 2008 .
