Murtas Qaschyghalijew ( Kazakh Мұртас Мұратұлы Қажығалиев , Russian Муртас Муратович Кажгалеев , the World Chess Federation FIDE Murtas Kazhgaleyev * 17th November 1973 in Oral ) is a Kazakh chess player .
He won the Kazakh Individual Championship twice: in 2015 and 2018. He played for Kazakhstan at eight Chess Olympiads : 1996 to 2000 , 2008 to 2012 , 2016 and 2018 . He also took part in the Asian team championships three times (1999, 2012 and 2016) and once in the team world championship (1997).
At the 2005 World Chess Cup he failed in the second round to Teymur Rəcəbov , at the 2011 World Chess Cup he failed to Dmitri Andreikin in the first round , and at the 2017 World Chess Cup he also failed in the first round to Vasyl Ivanchuk .
In France he played for the Club de Cannes Echecs and Club de Montpellier Echecs .
