The Schach-Club Remagen 1950 eV (SCR) was a chess club from Remagen in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Ahrweiler.

Club history

The SC Remagen was founded by interested chess friends in 1950. After their own successful years, which led the first team to the Bundesliga and the previous two-year syndicate, the Schachclub Remagen 1950 eV and Schachfreunde Sinzig eV merged to form SC Remagen-Sinzig eV in 2016 due to the increasing dwindling number of chess players

The merged club is a member of the Chess Federation Rhineland-Palatinate eV (SBRP). The club has played in the 2nd Bundesliga West since 2018. The chess club consists of 44 members (as of 2020), two of them under 25 years of age and one female.

successes

From 2006 to 2012 , SC Remagen played in the chess Bundesliga and reached fifth place in the first season .
