The tournament was divided into a preliminary round and a final round. The eight participating teams first played a simple round-robin tournament . The first four played for the title in Poule Haute , the last four in Poule Basse against relegation. The total of the team points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat), then the number of board points (3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a one loss, 0 points for an uncompromising loss). For the final placement, both the points from the preliminary round and the points from the final round were taken into account.
Game dates
The competitions were held on September 30, October 21, November 11, December 2 and 16, 2007, January 13 and 27, February 17, March 2 and 16, 2008.
Preliminary round
The field of participants turned out to be a two-tier society, so that the division of the final rounds was determined ahead of time. The only countable success of the second half of the table against the first was the victory of Esch Rochade Reine against last year's champion Cercle d'échecs Dudelange .
Bonnevoie and Differdange had the best starting positions with 12: 2 points each. With a loss to Echternach, Bonnevoie would have needed a win against Differdange in the last round to become champions. However, it won Differdange and thus became champions.
After the preliminary round, Esch was practically saved, while the second team from Echternach no longer had a realistic chance of avoiding relegation. The decision between Differdange's second team and Nordstad was made in the penultimate round, in which Differdange prevailed.
