The tournament was divided into a preliminary round and a final round. The eight participating teams first played a simple round-robin tournament . The first four played for the title in Poule Haute , the last four in Poule Basse against relegation. The total of the team points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat), then the number of board points (3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a one loss, 0 points for one loss without a fight). For the final placement, both the points from the preliminary round and the points from the final round were taken into account.
Game dates
The competitions were held on October 2 and 23, November 13 and 27, December 11, 2005, January 15 and 29, February 19, March 12 and 26, 2006.
Dudelange (13: 1 points), Echternach (12: 2 points) and Differdange (11: 3 points) were close together after the preliminary round. After Dudelange and Echternach won in the first two rounds, the decision was made in a direct comparison in the last round. Echternach won and thus defended the title.
