Interclubs 2016/17

The Interclubs 2016/17 is the Belgian team championship in chess.

Champion was the KSK Eynatten 47 despite losing to its main competitors L'Echiquier Amaytois while defending Koninklijke Gentse Schaakkring Ruy Lopez had to settle for fourth place. Cercle des Echecs de Charleroi and the Schaakclub Wachtebeke were promoted from Division 2 in the previous year . Both newly promoted players achieved relegation, while Borgerhoutse SK and The Belgian Chess Club had to relegate.

Game dates

The competitions were played on October 2 and 16, November 6 and 27, December 4, 2016, January 29, February 12 and 19, March 12 and 26 and April 23, 2017, with three competitions the third round were held on October 30, 2016 because of the overlap with the European Club Cup .

mode

The twelve participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament . The number of team points (two points for a team win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat) and then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
