Taxi 5 is a 2018 action comedy by producer Luc Besson based on a script by Franck Gastambide and Stéphane Kazandjian. It is the continuation of the films Taxi (1998) , Taxi Taxi (2000), Taxi 3 (2003) and T4xi (2007). The director Franck Gastambide also plays the leading role. The film was released in French cinemas on April 11, 2018.
Brief content
The policeman Sylvain Marot has been transferred from Paris to Marseille. There he is charged with apprehending an Italian gang who are up to mischief with Ferraris. In tracking the gang, he gets help from Eddy, Daniel's nephew. This comes into possession of the legendary white taxi.

Sylvain Marot, an exceptional driver, is one of the most efficient police officers in Paris . After an affair with the prefect's wife, he is forced to leave the capital and join the city police of Marseille . Alain Trésor, who has been in office for more than 20 years, introduces him to the team on site. During a routine check, Sylvain is hit by a chauffeur and flies over the car. He then tries to follow him through the streets of Marseille, but as a result of inattentiveness, he crashes his car into the Old Port. There he is attacked by two police officers who know his Parisian origins.
Gibert, former commissioner and now mayor of Marseille, must face the gang of Italians led by a former rally driver. It is a band of robbers who loot jewelry and operate a Ferrari in order to flee quickly. Fearing that the gang might plan a planned exhibition of diamonds in the MuCEM as a target of an act, Sylvain is appointed head of "Operation Mafia". When he realizes that the city police's vehicles are not strong enough, Alain tells him about Daniel and Emilien, who were able to stop four gears thanks to the overpowering taxi. During his research, Sylvain discovers that Daniel's nephew, Eddy Maklouf, is also the one who drove him into the car during his routine check-up. He offers him a deal: if he finds the taxi, he will forget all his crimes.
The Peugeot 407 is brought back from Morocco . Since Eddy doesn't know how to drive a car with a manual transmission , Sylvain takes control. At the same time, the Minister of the Interior visits Marseille and the Italian gang storms a jewelry store. When the city police can't stop them and cause a collision in the streets, Sylvain has to chase the Ferrari. The taxi lacks power and is stopped by a crossing tram . To make everything right again, Sylvain asks Eddy to use his contacts to infiltrate the Italian environment and give the taxi more power again. Eddy brings him to Rachid, the boss of a pizzeria, which serves as a cover for a secret casino and the smuggling of weapons and drugs. He also brings him to Samia, his sister, who is a mechanic and quickly attracts Sylvain.
With the information that the Italians are training on a racetrack near Marseille, Sylvain drives there with Eddy to attract their attention and, thanks to his driving skills and Samia's car improvements, manages to receive an invitation to a private party . However, he has to go there alone. To gather information, he infiltrates the private party with the city police team, but Eddy invites himself to the evening. They discover that the gang is targeting the largest diamond in the world, which is about to be displayed at the MuCEM and brought there by helicopter . For this purpose, two agents of the national police are said to be bribed by the gang. After Eddy is discovered, the duo are captured, but manage to escape with the help of the city police.
On the day the diamond arrived, the gang of Italians used a drone armed with missiles to push the helicopter away and put the diamond on a yacht in the Calanques . Sylvain and Eddy are then chased by the gang leader in a Lamborghini Aventador and by the two corrupt agents. When they are successfully arrested by the city police, the taxi fights to shake off the gang, be it on the highway or on the steep streets of the Calanques. Sylvain calls Samia and she tells him where a button is so the taxi can use nitro . When Sylvain sees the yacht in the bay , he drives over a cliff in nitro. The 407, like the old 406, was also equipped with wings and allowed the taxi to crash onto the yacht - while the Lamborghini, which stopped on the edge of the abyss, is in a dangerously delicate balance and prevents it from escaping. The diamond is recovered, the Italians arrested, but the Peugeot 407 is ready for scrap.
With his police rights, Sylvain confiscates the Aventador and manages to go out with Samia, who also drives a white, tuned taxi (Mercedes E63 AMG ). Eddy manages to win his girlfriend back while the city police officers have also found love.

Filming began on July 25, 2017 in Paris. The film was then shot in Marseille and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region .
In Taxi 5, as in the previous part, a tuned Peugeot 407 3.0 V6 is used. The vehicle can deploy air inlets on the bonnet as well as on the roof using a control panel above the center console . In addition, the entire body can be dynamically widened. Several front and rear spoilers extend and the rims change. What is new is that the vehicle can be further optimized via a central touchscreen.
About 30 vehicles were prepared for shooting within six weeks. This includes six taxis: one for scenes with actors, two for stunts and trips, one with a camera mounted, one as a prop on the ship and a vehicle for rehearsals.
Film debut
On May 19, 2017, it was announced that the film would hit theaters on April 7, 2018 in Marseille and on April 11, 2018 in all of France. The date marks the 20th anniversary of the first film in the series, Taxi (1998), which was released on April 8, 1998. The first teaser aired on January 28, 2018. The official movie poster was released on March 9, 2018, and the movie trailer was released on March 15, 2018.
