Franck Gastambide (born October 31, 1978 in Melun ) is a French actor , film director and screenwriter .

biography

At the age of 13 years Gastambide began with the dog-training of molosses, and was with 20 years as a trained security force (diploma: CAP Agent de sécurité ) as a specialist for fighting dogs. For the shooting of the film Les Rivières pourpres , he was asked by the trainer in charge to help him work with the Rottweilers and Pitbulls . In 2004 he worked on the film The Dalton against Lucky Luke .

Through Mathieu Kassovitz he met Kim Chapiron and Romain Gavras from Kourtrajmé Production , with whom he produced short films and hip-hop clips for DJ Mehdi and Mafia K'1 Fry .

At the same time, Gastambide took part in numerous filming of feature films , television films and television shows as a dog trainer. From MTV was as a cameraman of the journalist for the program Mouloud Achour involved.

In 2009 he made the pilot of the successful mini-series Kaïra Shopping . The series was filmed at the foot of a tower without any means or plan sequence . In 2012, an adapted version was broadcast in the cinema.

Activity as an actor and film director

Gastambide is an actor u. a. seen in comedies such as Vive la France, Toute Première Fois or Good Luck Algeria .

In 2016 he is working as a director on the film Pattaya , which focuses on the holiday misfortunes of three friends in Thailand . The actors are Gad Elmaleh , Ramzy Bédia, Sabrina Ouazani and the comedian Malik Bentalha. The film was released in French cinemas on February 24, 2016. In the first few weeks, more than two million viewers saw it, making it one of the most successful films of the year.

Gastambide worked on the 5th part of the saga in the taxi series as director and leading actor alongside Malik Bentalha. The film opened in French cinemas on April 11, 2018.

Awards

On February 5, 2013, Gastambide received the award for best first work by Le Film français .
