Mona Achache
Mona Achache (born March 18, 1981 ) is a French film director and screenwriter of Moroccan origin in film and television, who became internationally known through films such as Die Eleganz der Madame Michel and Um Bank und Kragen .
life and career
Mona Achache, born in 1981, has been working in the film business as a director and screenwriter since the mid-2000s, after training in literature and theater and after having worked as an assistant director. After a few short films, she directed the award-winning film drama Die Eleganz der Madame Michel based on the novel The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery with Josiane Balasko , Garance Le Guillermic and Togo Igawa in the leading roles. The film received several awards at the Cairo International Film Festival , including the award for Best Director . In 2012 she made the television film Um Bank und Kragen with Pascale Arbillot and Lolita Chammah . The cinema production Les Gazelles followed in 2014 with the cast of Camille Chamoux, Audrey Fleurot and Joséphine de Meaux .
Since 2015 Mona Achache has also appeared in television as a director and screenwriter, so she wrote and staged episodes for series such as Defendant and Marjorie . 2019 she worked for the French science fiction - television series Osmosis Audrey Fouché with Hugo Becker and Agathe Bonitzer also worked as director. The eight-part season appeared on Netflix on March 29, 2019 .
In 2009 and 2011 Achache was seen in small supporting roles as an actress.
At the age of 20 Mona Achache became a mother and in 2002 she produced a documentary about the birth.
