Togo Igawa

Tōgo Igawa ( Japanese 伊川 東 吾 , Igawa Tōgo ; born September 26, 1946 in Tokyo , Japan ) is a Japanese actor . He has worked mainly in British film since 1983 .

Life

Togo Igawa studied drama school at The Hiyuza Theater Company and the Tōhō Gakuen Daigaku acting. He then worked almost exclusively on the theater stage before moving to England in 1983. He made his big screen debut in the Japanese feature film Kagirinaku toumei ni chikai blue , published in 1979 and directed by Ryū Murakami , alongside Kunihiko Mitamura , Mari Nakayama and Haruhiko Saitō . His British canvas debut was the 1986 political thriller Half Moon Street, directed by Bob Swaim , with Sigourney Weaver and Michael Caine in the lead roles.

Igawa remained on the theater stage in Great Britain and became the first Japanese actor to join the Royal Shakespeare Company .

In parallel to his acting, he also works as a voice actor for video games. Urban Chaos , published in 1999, was his first work. This was followed by other speaking roles in Shogun: Total War , Perfect Dark Zero , Medieval 2: Total War , Crysis , Total War: Shogun 2 and PAYDAY 2 .
