Pernilla Ohrstedt

Elin Pernilla Ohrstedt (born December 1980 ) is a Swedish architect living in London.

childhood and education

Elin Pernilla Ohrstedt grew up in Stockholm as the daughter of an architect couple. She went to London in 2000, took a basic course at the  Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design  and studied at the  Bartlett School of Architecture .

Working life

Ohrstedt founded the London Pernilla Ohrstedt Studio in 2012.

In September 2013 the  London Evening Standard listed it as  one of the ES Power 1000.

Her work in collaboration with Asif Khan includes the Coca-Cola Beatbox , an interactive pavilion in the  London 2012 Olympic Park that can be played like a musical instrument. In 2011, together with Asif Khan, she designed the Future Memory Pavilion for the British Council and the Royal Academy of Arts in Singapore , a two-part structure made primarily of rope. She created the  Topshop Showspace 2014, an indoor walkway on real grass. At the 2014 London Design Festival, she created a booth for the MINI Frontiers Exhibition to show how driverless cars will visualize 3D data and gradually create a perfect digital model of a city.

Other customers and partners are the British independent architecture center The Architecture Foundation , the independent American art and architecture organization Storefront for Art and Architecture , Mark Ronson , the Canada Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale , the British luxury fashion house DAKS and the luxury fashion brand Antipodium .

Ohrstedt was a candidate for Emerging Woman Architect of the Year by The Architects' Journal .
