Bernard Farcy (born March 17, 1949 in Lyon ) is a French actor .

Life

Farcy began his acting career in the late 1970s with a role in the French miniseries Joséphine ou la comédie des ambitions . In 1983 he had a small role in the film The Moon in the Gutter by Jean-Jacques Brilleix . Until the mid-1990s he played supporting roles in various French film productions, among others on the side of Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon . In 1998 he was cast for the role of the incompetent Commissioner Gilbert in the Luc Besson production Taxi , through which he gained greater fame and which he also played in the following four sequels . As a result, he had larger roles in the comic book adaptations of Asterix and Isnogoud .

In 2006 he played the former President Charles de Gaulle in the France-2 two-part film Le Grand Charles . In 2008 he played the title role in the theater comedy Oscar, based on the film of the same name by and with Louis de Funès at the Théâtre du Gymnase in Paris .
