In the 2005 Supercup against CSKA Moscow, he scored two goals in a 3-1 win after extra time.

Olympique Marseille

In the summer of 2006 he was transferred to Olympique Marseille on loan . With Marseille he reached the cup final in 2007, in which he scored both goals in a 2-2 draw and also converted his penalty kick on penalties; Marseille was defeated by FC Sochaux . He scored 15 goals in 27 games for Marseille in his first season, including seven in the Cup. In addition, qualifying for the Champions League succeeded with second place in the league. In the second half of the season, he met 14 times in the league and helped Marseille make it to third place and the criticism fell silent. In all competitions, Cissé scored 22 goals for Olympique Marseille in his second season.

In July 2007, Marseille secured the rights to Cissé for 8.9 million euros for five years, who saw no more chance at Liverpool.
