The Qatar Stars League ( Arabic دوري نجوم قطر, DMG Daurī Nuǧūm Qaṭar ) is a professional football league in Qatar . It also forms the highest football league in the country. Since 1963, the league has been played with frequently changing names. The first champion was Al-Maref, the reigning champion of the 2018/19 season is Al-Sadd SC [obsolete] , who is also the record champion with 14 titles.

In the past, the league usually consisted of ten teams, from the 2009/10 season the league was increased and played with twelve teams, which is why there were no relegated athletes in the season that had previously ended. For the 2013/14 season, the league was supplemented by two more teams, which meant that no club had to be relegated in the preseason.
