The al-Sailiya SC ( Arabic نادي السيلية الرياضي, DMG Nādī as-Sailīya ar-Riyāḍī ) is a sports club in Doha ( Qatar ). The men's soccer team plays in the country's highest league, the Qatar Stars League . The team plays their home games in the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium . The association was founded in 1995 as al-Qadisiya. The association has had its current name since 2002. In 2003, the first promotion to the highest league in the country took place, but rose again with only four points from 18 games as the last. In the years that followed, the team developed into an elevator team : an ascent was immediately followed by a descent. It was not until the 2007/08 season that it was possible to hold the highest league in which the team played from then on.
