José-Karl Pierre-Fanfan (born July 26, 1975 in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer ) is a French football player with roots in Martinique .

Career

Fanfan began his career at the age of 18 in 1993 with the provincial club US Dunkerque . At the lower-class club he was a regular player and was soon spotted by scouts from the top French clubs. The race for the 1.89 m tall giant finally went to RC Lens , who signed him in 1997 and was his employer until 2001. In January 2001, AS Monaco signed him , but with which he could not build on his previous performances. So in 2003 it was first loaned to Paris Saint-Germain in the capital. During his time here, he missed the Champions League final that Monaco played against FC Porto. Shortly after his return to AS, PSG made the decision to sign Fanfan permanently. He became an integral part of the dark blues and was part of the regular team until 2005. Then came the Czech David Rozehnal and ousted Pierre-Fanfan from the team, forcing him to join another club. He chose the Scottish top club Glasgow Rangers and formed the defensive duo with the Rangers together with Marvin Andrews from Trinidad . In August 2006, Pierre-Fanfan asked his club to terminate his contract before the actual expiry date, as he had no chance after Karl Svensson was signed.

After Pierre-Fanfan was initially without a contract, he joined Al-Sailiya in Qatar in November 2007 .

National team

Pierre-Fanfan decided to play for the Martinique national football team instead of the French. The exact number of his internationals is not known.
