David Rozehnal [ ˈdavit ˈrɔzɛɦnal ] (born July 5, 1980 in Šternberk ) is a former Czech football player who was most recently under contract with KV Oostende .
Career
society
From his local club in Kožušany, Rozehnal moved to SK Sigma Olomouc when he was young in the district capital . There he rose to the first division team in 1999 and after two years of development he was a regular in the Olomouc defense from 2001. At the same time he made a career in the Czech youth team and in 2002 he was part of the country's victorious U21 European championship team.
In 2003 the successful move to the Belgian First Division for Club Bruges followed . There he also established himself as a defender and was able to help with a championship and a cup victory in two years. Then the courted Czech moved to a big league in France to Paris Saint-Germain . In the 2005/06 season he completed all league games for the club and in the cup competition Saint-Germain succeeded in winning.
For the 2007/08 season Rozehnal moved to Newcastle United . There he received a contract until 2011. At the end of January 2008, he was loaned to Lazio Rome until the end of the season , and in summer 2008 he was permanently committed to Lazio. In July 2009 he moved to Hamburger SV , where he signed a three-year contract. On March 14, 2010, the 26th matchday of the 2009/10 season, he scored his first and only Bundesliga goal for HSV in a 2: 4 away defeat against Bayer 04 Leverkusen . After he was no longer considered under the new coach Armin Veh , he played in the 2010/11 season initially on loan for the French Europa League participant OSC Lille . With the club from the Nord-Pas-de-Calais , he won the " double " ( cup and championship ) in 2011 .
On June 29, 2011, Lille OSC signed Rozehnal from Hamburger SV. Rozehnal signed a new three-year contract until June 30, 2014. In July 2015 Rozehnal joined KV Oostende . He officially ended his active career in April 2018.
National team
He played for the Czech national team from 2004 to 2009. He and the team qualified for the 2006 World Cup in Germany , where he was part of the defense.
On August 12, 2009 he scored his first international goal. In the 3-1 victory of the Czech team against Belgium, he scored the third goal.
