The Lebanese Premier League ( French Championnat du Liban de Football ; Arabic الدوري اللبناني لكرة القدم) is the top football league in Lebanon . It was founded in 1933 and belongs to the AFC , the continental association of Asia. Twelve clubs take part in the league. Due to the civil war in Lebanon, there was no regular game operation from 1975 to 1987. After resuming the league, the club al-Ansar set a world record when it won eleven championships in a row from 1988 to 1999. With 13 titles, the club is also the country's record champions. Only Nejmeh Club interrupted the run of Al-Ansar in 2000. Current title holder 2019 is al Ahed .

mode

The league will be played with twelve teams in the round two, with each team competing against each other. The champions and the cup winners qualify for the AFC Cup . The last two clubs are relegated to the 2nd division.
