al Ahed ( Arabic العهد, DMG al-ʿAhd ) is a football club in Beirut , Lebanon and was founded in 1966. The club plays in the country's highest league, the Lebanese Premier League . The club plays its home games at the Beirut Municipal Stadium. In 2004, the club won the Lebanese FA Cup, the first notable title. The greatest success followed by winning the first championship in the 2007/08 season . Thus al Ahed automatically qualified for the AFC Cup 2009 . After three match days of the group stage, the club has very good prospects of reaching the next round. However, due to a weak second half of the season, in which they only scored one point, they were eliminated in third place. In the 2008/09 season the club played again with the top. In the end, however, the club was only runner-up. In May 2009 the club won the FA Cup for the third time, qualifying for the 2010 AFC Cup . In the final, the team prevailed 2-0 against Shabab Al-Sahel . In the 2009/10 season al Ahed was again champions, during the season the team did not lose a single of their 22 games. The first double was signed and sealed in 2011. In the 2014/15 season , the club secured the championship for the fourth time. The fifth title followed in 2017 . A year later even the second double in the club's history was achieved.
