Double (sport)
As a double ([ˈdɘbɘl] or [ˈduːbɘl] English for [the] double, originally from Latin duplex = double), the win of two important titles in one season or in contests that are close at hand is referred to in sport. The term is most commonly used in team sports for winning the national championship and the national cup competition of the same club.

Germany
In German football , a double is to be understood as winning the German football championship and the DFB Cup in the same year. In GDR football , the term was used for winning the GDR football championship and the FDGB cup in the same year. Before the First World War , the German Football Association (DFB) and the German Academic Association (ASB) played the German Academic Championship from 1911 to 1913 . There were also two double winners: 1912 Holstein Kiel and 1913 VfB Leipzig .
The record double winner for men is FC Bayern Munich with thirteen doubles, and 1. FFC Frankfurt has been successful six times for women .
Austria
In Austrian men's football, FK Austria Wien have scored ten times, SK Rapid Wien six times, FC Red Bull Salzburg five times, SK Admira Wien four times, FC Tirol three times, the Grazer AK , LASK Linz , SK Sturm Graz and SC Wacker Wien once each double . In the women’s category, SV Neulengbach made it ten times, USC Landhaus Wien and Union Kleinmünchen Linz four times each.
Switzerland

other European countries
In some European football leagues, a double is much more common, as two or three teams dominate here. Like in Scotland, for example, where the Glasgow Rangers and Celtic Glasgow each achieved the double 18 times. In many countries there are also home and away games in the cup competition. As a rule, this regulation helps the higher-class teams, as a one-time slip can be corrected again.
