history
FC La Chaux-de-Fonds was founded on July 4, 1894 and joined the Swiss Football Association in 1900 as the 13th club . The club was initially a subdivision of the local YMCA section, but they parted ways in 1904. After the opening of the Stade de la Charrière in 1940, the "golden age" began. Between 1948 and 1964 the club won the Swiss Cup six times and was Swiss champion three times. In 1954 and 1955 even the double was achieved . The club was unable to build on these successes: in 1987, FC La Chaux-de-Fonds was relegated to what was then the National League B , and in 1993 to the first division (top amateur class). In 2003, he was promoted to the newly created second-rate Challenge League.
In 2009 the club no longer received a license there, he was relegated to the sixth class 2nd division . In this he stayed until the 2012/13 season, in which he was champion of the regional group of the ANF association and rose to the fifth-class 2nd league interregional . This left the rival Étoile-Sporting La Chaux-de-Fonds behind, who had played interregionally in the 2nd league in 2011/12, but had now returned to the 2nd league and thus even with the 2012/13 FC had played in a league. The Football Club finished the rival 5-0 in the first leg. After the promotion, the team in Group 2 of the 2nd league in 2013/14 immediately had good prospects for the fourth-class 1st league and was temporarily at the top of the table on 10 of 26 match days, which would have meant promotion. In the end, FC La Chaux-de-Fonds was in second place with 53 points, six points behind the Vaud U-21 team .
In the 2015/16 season he was promoted to the Promotion League as the 1st league champion.
