history

The beginning of today's women's team at SV Neulengbach dates back to 1992. In Altlengbach, women began to practice for the tent festival of SV Altlengbach / Laabental and then played at this event as "surface dressing". The team wanted to continue playing football. A decisive step was taken in the 1994/95 season. In the 1st Traisental Cup (predecessor of the Lower Austrian State League) the team won the title. This paved the way for further advancement. In the 1995/96 season, this women's team was able to play in the 2nd division and already reached second place in the first season (behind Obersdorf / P.). After disagreements with the board of SV Altlengbach, the team then moved to Neulengbach. The women's team at SV Neulengbach was integrated in the Vienna Woods judicial district town and the next success story began with the establishment of the women's football section in 1996. In the 1996/97 season, SV Neulengbach took over the league position of local competitor and now cooperation partner SV Altlengbach in the 2nd division, the second highest level in Austrian women's football. After the Altlengbach women narrowly failed their second place on the rise, SV Neulengbach won the championship title in the second division in the first season and thus the promotion to the Austrian women's Bundesliga. In the first year in the top league, the Neulengbacher women reached the impressive fifth place out of eight participating teams and even made it to the final in the cup competition, which the Lower Austrians lost to Union Kleinmünchen with 1: 3. In the following season, Neulengbach was runner-up behind the series winner Union Kleinmünchen and with third place in 2000 and the two second places in 2001 and 2002 kept the qualification for the Austrian championship title.

In the following years the SV Neulengbach became the dominant team in Austrian women's football. The 2002/03 season the Lower Austrians finished the championship without loss of points and with a total of 120 scored and 5 goals received. From 2003 to 2012, the team from the Vienna Woods celebrated ten championship titles in a row and won the Austrian Cup competition just as often , so the team managed to double ten times in a row. In 2003 they beat Union Kleinmünchen 5-1 in the ÖFB LadiesCup, in 2004 they defeated FC Südburgenland 12-0 and in 2005 they defeated Innsbruck AC 2-1 in the final. In 2006 and 2007 the opponent was LUV Graz , who were defeated 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. Against USC Landhaus, the record champion and cup winner, the team from the Vienna Woods remained successful in June 2008 in St. Pölten with 6: 2 in the final and in Kammer am Attersee Neulengbach achieved the final victory against Wacker Innsbruck with 5: 1. In 2010 Neulengbach won against ASK Erlaa 4-0 in Rohrbach and with the same result the cup defender was successful against LUV Graz a year later in Ottensheim near Linz. In 2012 the ÖFB LadiesCup final was held again in Upper Austria, namely in Pettenbach and Neulengbach, beating FC Wacker Innsbruck 4-0. In the following year, the eleventh championship title was achieved in a row, but Neulengbach had to admit defeat in the penalty shootout against ASV Spratzern in the cup. The 2nd team, the "Juniors", won the championship title in the 2nd women's league east / south in 2013 (by the way, for the 2nd team it's the second title after 2006, when they were champions in the Lower Austrian women's league). In the 2013/14 season, the twelfth championship title was achieved without loss of points and thus Neulengbach was able to draw level with the previous record champion USC Landhaus.

In addition, the Neulengbachers won the Supercup games in 2003 and 2004 . This competition was only held in 2001 (Supercup winner: Union Kleinmünchen), 2002 (Supercup winner: USC Landhaus) and 2003 and 2004.

The women's team from Neulengbach has been honored as the best team eight times since 2003 (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2014) at the Bruno Gala. Only in 2008 (Wacker Innsbruck), 2010 (USK Hof / S), 2011 (FC Südburgenland), as well as 2013 and 2015 (FSK St. Pölten-Spratzern) were other women's teams brought forward.

In the Neulengbacher regular eleven, almost only national team players have played for years, including legionnaires from Brazil, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Taiwan. The most famous player came from South America. Rosana , played in Neulengbach from 2005 to 2008. She won the silver medal with the Brazilian national team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . In Brazil she was voted the best player in the Olympic tournament. In 2005 Rosana was named Player of the Year in Austria. In addition, the players Birgitt Hufnagl (2003) and Melanie Fischer (2004) were honored at the Bruno Gala and Sabine Brand (2004) was chosen as Krone Footballer of the Year . Over the next few years, the players Natascha Celouch (2007), Nina Burger (2010), Dominika Skorvankova (SVK, 2013), Jennifer Klein (2016) and Maria Gstöttner (2018) received awards at the Bruno Gala.

The previous success story came to an end in summer 2015. After changes in the summer of 2014 - new board and new sporting management - the team was no longer able to continue the previous performance. In the successful era of Neulengbach women's football with manager and chairman Bruno Mangl, 10 doubles and a total of 12 championship titles could be won. In the 2014/15 season there were no national titles under chairman Walter Begusch and sporting director Peter Herglotz. Due to this fact and the chairman's health problems, the next changes were made after the 2014/15 season. As in the early years of the Alt- and Neulengbach women's team, Alexander Achterberg took over the management and Tito Spindler, an experienced women's soccer coach, came to the Vienna Woods. Due to a massive budget cut (lack of funding, lack of main sponsor) there were also huge changes to the players' squad. Around 50% of the players were or had to be replaced. Now, however, Neulengbach is on the road with a young team and it is hoped that in a few months it will be possible to build on previous performances and results. After only two months there was another change of coach, as Tito Spindler resigned for personal reasons. The coaching duo Gstöttner / Brancao took over the management and that with great success. Neulengbach came third with the young team and made it to the cup final. In the summer of 2016, however, a new coach change was made and Brigitte Entacher (1st women's team) and Thomas Richter (2nd women's team) took over the lead. From January to June 2017, Thomas Richter was solely responsible. In the summer of 2017, more than ten players left the club. Again a new team had to be found and with Mario Graf there is also a new coach. From this point on, chairman Thomas Wirnsberger will be in charge of the women's team.

In the last group game the opponent Uczniowski Klub Sportowy was defeated 8: 1 and SV Neulengbach qualified as group winners for the second main round.
  • In the second main round, SV Neulengbach played at the tournament in London against hosts Arsenal LFC , Alma KTZH and ASD Bardolino Verona . In the first group game against the Italian representative ASD Bardolino Verona there was a narrow 3-2 defeat. In the second group game against defending champions Arsenal LFC there was a 7-0 defeat. The last group game against the Kazakh club Alma KTZH could be won 3-0, which meant the third place in the group and thus the elimination from the tournament.

2008/09 season

  • This season too, SV Neulengbach was the organizer for the A7 preliminary group of the UEFA Women's Cup . In their first game against the Russian club ŽNK KRKA Novo mesto there was a 6-0 victory. In the second group game against Vamos Idaliou an 8-0 victory was achieved. The last group game against the Portuguese club SU 1º Dezembro was the direct duel for promotion and could be won 4-0. Neulengbach was seeded for the 16th final and played against RTP Unia Raciborz (Poland) in this first round. There was a 3-1 win away and at home Neulengbach had to admit defeat 1-0, but the team advanced to the last sixteen.

In the away game, the Austrian champions achieved a remarkable 1-1 draw in Transylvania (Cluj-Napoca), but at home in front of the record crowd of 1,150 spectators in the Wienerwaldstadion, a 2-2 draw was not enough due to the away goals rule. The hits from Maria Gstöttner (1 each in Romania and Neulengbach) and Giovana were not enough for promotion. After five years in uninterrupted succession, this time there was no promotion to the top 16 teams in Europe.
