Mônica Hickmann Alves (born April 21, 1987 in Porto Alegre ) is a Brazilian soccer player .
Career
society
Her professional career began in Austria at SV Neulengbach , for whom she scored eighteen goals in five seasons in the championship. She won the Austrian double five times in a row. From 2012 to 2015 she played for various clubs in her home country and won the Brazilian double with Ferroviária in 2014 . In late 2015 she signed a contract with Orlando Pride , for which she appeared in the 2016 NWSL season . At the end of 2016, she moved to Adelaide United on loan for a season in the Australian W-League .
In April 2019, Mônica began an engagement with SC Corinthians from São Paulo in the Brazilian championship.
National team
In 2006 Alves was a member of the U-20 national team at the U-20 South American Championship in Chile . She made her debut in the A-selection on September 20, 2014 in the 4-0 defeat against Argentina at the South American Championship 2014 in Ecuador . She was also on the squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro .
