The Ecuadorian women's national soccer team represents Ecuador in international women's soccer . The national team is subordinate to the Football Association of Ecuador and is coached by Garis Estupinan. The selection took part in five of the previous CONMEBOL South American Championships , with fourth place in 1998 being the greatest success so far. Ecuador has not yet participated in a world championship or the Olympic Games. So far Ecuador has only played against teams from CONMEBOL and CONCACAF . At the 2010 Copa at home , Ecuador was eliminated in the preliminary round only because of the poorer goal difference against Argentina and Chile. Four years later, the team reached in again carried out in Ecuador Cup third place, qualified for the playoffs against a CONCACAF representative and could be on December 2, 2014. A last-minute goal against Trinidad & Tobago for the first time for the Qualify for the World Cup finals. Coach Vanessa Arauz Leon wrote World Cup history as the youngest coach at a women's soccer world championship at the age of only 26 .

The Ecuadorian team initially took part in the women's soccer tournament of the Pan American Games, which has been held since 1999, but was able to qualify again for 2015.
International matches against German-speaking countries
At the 2015 World Cup, Ecuador met Switzerland in Vancouver on June 12, 2015, and for the first time a team from the German-speaking area. The game was lost 1:10.
