The 1st South American Women's Soccer Championship ( Sudamericano Femenino in Spanish ) took place in Brazil from April 28th to May 5th, 1991 . The game was played at the Estádio Willie Davids in Maringá in the southern state of Paraná . It was the first women's international soccer game in South America recognized by FIFA . For Chile and Venezuela it was also the first international matches for the women's teams. The host was the winner .
