Then this overall table was divided into two tables of five. The top five clubs then played in the upper play-offs against each other twice in ten rounds for the championship title. The first place in the upper play-off was eligible to participate in the UEFA Women's Cup as champions. The teams in places six to ten played twice in ten rounds against relegation in the lower play-off . While the last placed was relegated, the table ninth had to play in two relegation games against the champions from the 2nd division middle .

In addition, after the basic round in autumn, each club received a certain number of points for the spring season, which were based on the placement. The 1st and 6th placed received five points, the 2nd and 7th placed four points, the 3rd and 8th placed three points, the 4th and 9th placed two points and the 5th and 10th placed one point.

Season course

The ÖFB women's league began on August 11, 2007 and ended on June 14, 2008 with the 19th round. The opening game was the match between FC St. Veit / Glan and LUV Graz . Master was superior to the SV Neulengbach that and so on until a match won all the games and conceded only eight goals for the UEFA Women's Cup qualifying. The move to the second division had to go to 1. DFC Leoben , which only came to a single draw during the season and scored only six goals. The Union Kleinmünchen no longer saved itself in the relegation games from relegation.

    Second performance level

The 2nd league represents the second highest performance group in Austrian women's football. In order to reduce the costs for the clubs, it is divided into four regional groups: 2nd league middle, 2nd division east, 2nd league south and 2nd league west, the latter did not take part in the relegation games.

The second performance level consisted of four leagues, separated by region:

    • 2nd league center with the clubs from Upper Austria ( OFV ) and Salzburg ( SFV ),
    • 2nd Division East with the clubs from Lower Austria ( NÖFV ) and Vienna ( WFV ),
    • 2. League South with the clubs from Burgenland ( BFV ), Carinthia ( KFV ) and Styria ( StFV ) and
    • 2. League West with the clubs from Tyrol ( TFV ) and Vorarlberg ( VFV ).

The general mode provides that the champions of the leagues could play in a relegation for promotion to the ÖFB women's league. The bottom of the table in each league was relegated.
