The Austrian women's soccer championship was held for the 20th time in 1991/92 after the 35-year break between 1938 and 1972. The top division is the women's Bundesliga and was held for the 10th time by the Austrian Football Association . The second highest division , this season the 13th edition, was the Women's League East, which was organized for the 10th time by the Vienna Football Association .
Union Kleinmünchen became Austrian football champions for the third time . The champion of the second highest division was in the women's league Ost Austria XIII .

As in the previous year, the league consisted of ten teams. New in the league were SV Janecka Wienerfeld , which was created through a cooperation between the two clubs, and DFC Heidenreichstein after a year break .

Instead of the newcomers DFC Heidenreichstein and DFC Laimbach , the ATSV Deutsch-Wagram played this year . This season Austria XIII became champions , but they are not entitled to play in the top division next season.

The league consisted of six clubs that played against each other in 3 rounds, a round trip and a second round and again a first round. The champions of the Upper Austrian women's league were determined in 15 rounds.
Season course
The league was made up of six clubs compared to the previous year, in which seven clubs participated, because SK Eintracht Wels and Union Engelhartszell were not there, instead SV Chemie Linz played for the first time . Union St. Roman became champions this season , but is not allowed to play in the top division next season. Union St. Roman and SV Gramastetten dissolved their women's team at the end of the season.
