The Austrian women's soccer championship was held for the 41st time in 2012/13 after the 35-year break between 1938 and 1972. The top division is the ÖFB women's league and was held for the 8th time. The second highest division ( 2nd league ), the 34th edition this season, was divided into two regional leagues, with the 2nd league center / west being held for the 4th time and the 2nd league east / south for the 2nd time . The season lasted from mid-August to mid-June.

SV Neulengbach became Austrian soccer champions for the 11th time in a row . The champions of the second highest division were Heeres SV Wals (center / west) and SV Neulengbach II (east / south). Since the Heeres SV Wals, first in the 2nd division middle / west, SG SK Sturm Graz Damen / FC Stattegg , second in the 2nd division East / South, was entitled to play in the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga in the 2013/14 season .

In the 2012/13 season, as in previous years, ten clubs competed against each other in a total of 18 rounds. Each team played once at home and away against every other team.

Season course

The ÖFB women's league ended, like the previous seasons, with the championship title for SV Neulengbach , who won with 51 points and a goal difference of plus 97 in front of ASV Spratzern . The ÖFB Ladies Cup won for the first time the ASV Spratzern 7: 6 (3: 3 2: 0) over the series champion and cup winner SV Neulengbach.

    Second performance level - 2nd division

    The 2nd league represents the second highest performance group in Austrian women's football. In order to reduce the costs for the clubs, it is divided into two regional groups: 2nd league middle / west and 2nd league east / south.

The second performance level consisted of two leagues, separated by region:

    • 2. League Middle / West with the clubs from Upper Austria ( OFV ), Salzburg ( SFV ), Tyrol ( TFV ) and Vorarlberg ( VFV ) and
    • 2. League East / South with the clubs from Burgenland ( BFV ), Carinthia ( KFV ), Lower Austria ( NÖFV ), Styria ( StFV ) and Vienna ( WFV ).

    Playing in the second division in the 2012/13 season, a total of 17 teams played for promotion to the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga, six second teams from clubs were not eligible for promotion.

    The general mode stipulates that each team competed against each other in the respective league. The champions of the two leagues played in a relegation for promotion to the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga. The bottom of the table in each league was relegated.

    As part of the competition, which is carried out in championship mode, each team plays twice against each participating opposing team (round-trip round). The right to the home results from the draw.

    Season course

    The Heeres SV Wals syndicate won the 2nd division Middle / West and is entitled to play the relegation for the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga for the 2013/14 season.

    Heeres SV Wals and SG SK Sturm Graz Damen / FC Stattegg are qualified for the relegation . Since the Heeres SV Wals waived the relegation and so no relegation was played, the women from Graz are promoted to the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga for the 2013/14 season .

    Relegation to the 2nd division center / west

    In the west, a relegation to the 2nd league middle / west was not held in the regional league middle region or in the regional league west region.

    Relegation to the 2nd league east / south

    Regional League Eastern Region

    In the Landesliga Ost-Region, a relegation tournament was played in which the champions from Burgenland, Lower Austria and Vienna competed against each other in three games. The first placed team moves up to the 2nd league east / south, the others stay in the respective national league. The table of the mini-tournament gave the following result. The latter rose to the 2nd league east / south.
