history

Founding history

The women's team was founded in 1968 by Gerhard Traxler. In the same year the team joined the USC Landhaus as a separate section. At that time, women's football was practically non-existent in Austria, but the then chairman of the USC Landhaus, Walter Dragoun, showed farsightedness and immediately accepted the women's team into the club. The USC Landhaus is one of the oldest and best-known women's football clubs in Austria. Official play began on January 1, 1969. At that time, founding father Gerhard Traxler not only acted as section head, but was also the team's first coach. The club looked for its opponents abroad, especially in Czechoslovakia , as there were no opponents in Austria. In 1971 the USC Landhaus was finally accepted into the Vienna Football Association as the first women's football club.

Championship and cup

For the 1972/73 season, an Austrian championship and an Austrian cup competition in women's football were announced for the first time . The championship was organized by the Vienna Football Association and was called the East Women's League or Vienna Women's League. The first champions were the women of the Favoritner AC . The women of USC Landhaus Wien achieved their first runner-up title and with their victory in the cup final over SV Kagran (16: 0 and 10: 0!) The first cup victory in the club's history. In 2000, Nina Aigner from USC Landhaus was Austria's top scorer with 27 goals. To date, the USC Landhaus Wien holds twelve championship titles, eleven cup wins and one Supercup victory. This makes the club the most successful women's football club in Austria. The club celebrated its last championship title in 2001. Since then, a generation change has taken place at USC Landhaus, which interrupted the long series of successes somewhat. With the runner-up title in 2004, however, the players indicated that the club's streak of success will continue. This year, because FC Südburgenland decided not to take part in the Supercup, the team had the opportunity to play instead of the Burgenland women. The game was played on July 9, 2004 as a prelude to the men's Supercup in the Graz-Liebenau stadium and brought the Landhaus-Elf a narrow defeat on penalties against champions SV Neulengbach .

Foreign tournaments and UEFA competitions

In the course of its existence, the USC Landhaus also received a lot of attention abroad and was invited to numerous tournaments in Hungary , the Czech Republic , Germany and France .

In 2001/02 , the club took part in the first ever UEFA Women's Cup and met champions Torres Terra Sarda (Italy) , HJK Helsinki (Finland) and KÍ Klaksvík (Faroe Islands) in Group 5 in Helsinki ( Finland ) . However, the Austrians could not keep up with the strength of their opponents and were eliminated in the first round after three defeats.

It wasn't until 2018/19 that the club qualified again for the UEFA Women's Champions League and were eliminated from the qualifying tournament in Latvia in third place with one win and two losses.

Cooperation with FK Austria Wien

As part of a cooperation with FK Austria Wien, which was decided in 2015, the club's C-team has been playing as Austria Wien Ladies in the Vienna regional league since the 2017/18 season . Since the 2018/19 season, the first team has also played as SG USC Landhaus / FK Austria Wien in the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga.

Youth work

Those responsible for the USC Landhaus pay particular attention to youth work. The club's B-team plays in the 2nd Division East and has already won the championship title four times in this league. In this team, young players are used, who can thus gain the necessary match practice and experience to work their way up to the Bundesliga team.

Furthermore, there were (May / 2010) three youth teams in the age groups U11, U13 and U15 which also take part in regional and national championships.

In the 2008/09 season, the newly founded "Girls' Youth League East", in which clubs from Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland are currently participating, won the championship title in the U12 and U14 age groups.

In the 2009/10 season this competition will be held in the U13 and U15 age groups.

In the 2016/17 season the U10 played against U9 boys from the C-League. The U12 and U14 also played in the Girls League East against Lower Austrian girls' clubs.
