SK Sturm Graz is a soccer club from Graz . The women's soccer department of SK Sturm Graz has existed since May 2011 when it took over the women's soccer department of FC Stattegg. The first team plays in the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga . The second team competes in the 2nd league east / south .

The 2nd women's team of LUV Graz played in the 2005/06 season in the 2nd women's league south and took 5th place there. In the following two seasons, the team played under the name Schönberger LUV, before the team of FC Stattegg was taken over despite protests from the players.

The women's soccer team, which has been planned for years and will exist from 2011, began in the 2nd league east / south under the name SK Sturm Graz Damen / Stattegg . The women played their home games on the Stattegg football field. The average age of 20 players in the women's squad in the 2011/12 season was 19.25, with the three oldest players increasing the average age by two years. From the 2012/13 season, the home games took place in Messendorf. In June 2013, promotion to the ÖFB women's Bundesliga was fixed. On November 3, 2013, the Sturm-Damen managed a 6-2 win against LUV Graz in the first Graz city derby in women's history. The former Bundesliga professional Markus Hiden is the coach . In the 2014/2015 season, the women took 3rd place in the final table. In the Austrian Football Women's Championship 2015/16 , the syndicate was runner-up and qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League for the first time .
SK Sturm Graz
As SK Sturm Graz, the team took part in the round of 32 of the 2016/17 UEFA Women's Champions League and lost to FC Zurich Women in their first game . In the 2016/17 Bundesliga season , the team again finished second and was able to qualify for the 2017/18 UEFA Women's Champions League . In the tournament in Nicosia , the team came in second and did not reach the final round.
