The 2nd league represents the second highest performance group in Austrian women's football. In order to reduce the costs for the clubs, it is divided into three regional groups: 2nd league middle / west, 2nd league east and 2nd league south.

The second performance level consisted of three leagues, separated by region:

    • 2nd league middle / west with the clubs from Upper Austria ( OFV ), Salzburg ( SFV ), Tyrol ( TFV ) and Vorarlberg ( VFV ),
    • 2. League East with the clubs from Burgenland ( BFV ), Lower Austria ( NÖFV ) and Vienna ( WFV ) and
    • 2nd League South with the clubs from Carinthia ( KFV ) and Styria ( StFV ).

The general mode provides that the champions of the leagues could play in a relegation for promotion to the ÖFB women's league. The bottom of the table in each league was relegated.
