The sports club Langenrohr is a football club from Langenrohr in Lower Austria in the Tulln district . The club belongs to the Lower Austrian Football Association (NÖFV) and has been playing in the fourth highest performance level, the Lower Austria Regional League , since the 1993/94 season .

founding

The association was founded by Governor Josef Reither and later Langenrohr Mayor Eduard Stadler on August 15, 1947. From the 1948 season, the club took part in the championship and was divided into the 2nd class Tullnerfeld. In the following years Langenrohr did not get beyond the lower class.

history

Further progress until 1992

The club's first title was the "Spitt-Cup" in 1961. It took 17 years before the first championship title and the first promotion to a higher league could be recorded, because Langenrohr was champion in the second division in the 1964/65 season Class Tullnerfeld and was promoted to 1st class Northwest-Center. But they only stayed there for four years, then the club rose again as champions in the lower league. It didn't take long again, after seven years they were promoted to the newly founded Oberliga West, but only stayed there for three years, because then the club's first descent back to the lower league followed. Motivated by the descent, they returned to the Oberliga West in the 1983/84 season, while the reserve and two youth teams were also able to become champions in their leagues. The march through the Oberliga West almost succeeded, but in the following year Langenrohr played in the 2. Landesliga West , which was the club's greatest success so far. But in 1993 this success was topped.

Promotion to the Lower Austria regional league

The 1992/93 season did not start well, because top performers Martin Hohenecker , Christian Schlosser and the coach who wanted to keep Johann Haller left the club. Among other things, the later promotion coach Langenrohrs Gerhard Kratky was brought in as a replacement. Wolfgang Leitner, Karl Adamek and the former Langenrohrer Rudolf Ginsthofer could be brought in as players . The latter returned for half a year before going back to SV Stockerau . The team finished the first half of the season and was thus autumn champions. In the spring of 1993 Langenrohr and the later master Gottsdorf met , which ended 3-2 in favor of the guests. Towards the end of the season they were able to defeat third-placed FC Sturm 19 St. Pölten 2-0 and so they could move into the relegation against Hausmening. The games ended 2: 2 or 2: 1 for Langenrohr and so you could get promoted to the Lower Austria regional league for the first time . The club has played in this league for more than 20 years.

After promotion to the Lower Austria regional league

The new season started well, the first derby against their "big" neighbor FC Tulln was won 4-1. In the last match against fellow promoted Gottsdorf you could get a draw, which meant second place at the end of the first half of the season. In order to strengthen the team's cohesion, the club held a training camp in Turkey during the winter break of the 1993/94 season . A tragedy occurred when Langenrohr's trainer Gerhard Kratky was struck by lightning and died. On this occasion, Vienna Austria competed against Langenrohr on March 13, 1994 in a memorial game in honor of the promotion coach. The 1200 spectators saw an unexpected 4-3 victory for Langenrohr against the reigning Austrian champions. They finished the season in third, which guaranteed a place in the ÖFB Cup .

The second and third regional league seasons saw little to speak of except for the win against the eventual champions from 1994/95 ASK Kottingbrunn and a 7-0 victory over arch rivals FC Tulln. In the ÖFB Cup, however, the regional league team EPSV Gmünd could be thrown out of the cup in the first round . In the second round, however, you were thrown out 7: 3 by Admira Wacker Mödling .

The 1996/97 season started modestly as the most important players, especially Martin Niss and Werner Öllerer, left the club. When after ten rounds the club still didn't get going , the coach Mario Sehrengel was fired and August Baumühlner became the new coach. But even under Baumühlner they only got going towards the end of the first half of 1996. At the start of the second half of the season, another tragedy occurred because Günter Stadler, a long-winded man from Langenrohr, died in a car accident. But even this terrible news could not stop Langenrohr, because they could book a brilliant 5-0 derby win against SV Würmla in the Tullnerfeld derby. But even after the runaway victory, the club was in dire straits. Only after the penultimate lap was it possible to avert the descent and finally to be seventh.

From a sporting point of view, 1997/98 and 1998/99 were modest, the 5-0 defeat against Tulln, where three Langenrohrers were excluded with the red card, and a debacle in the ÖFB Cup against SV Mattersburg are worth mentioning . In terms of infrastructure, however, the year 1998 was a complete success, because the new Langenrohr sports facility including the training grounds could be completed. Also worth mentioning in 1999 is the U21 qualifying match between the Austrian U21 national team and the Dutch U21 national team. There were 2,600 visitors on site, theoretically more than Langenrohr had residents.

In the 1999/2000 season, Langenrohr reached fourth place in the regional league, which allowed him to take part in the Austrian soccer cup. At the end of the championship, the Austrian runner-up in the 1998/99 season, Rapid Vienna , was welcomed to a friendly game. The 1300 spectators saw a strong performance by SV Langenrohr, who led 3-0 at halftime. After the restart, the match finally went 4: 3 to Rapid. In the following season, Rapid Wien returned to Langenrohr's sports facility, only this time because of the ÖFB Cup. Here the game was much clearer: a clear 4-0 win for Rapid meant a quick end for Langenrohr.

The 2001/02 season started as requested, as players like Peter Lackner and Martin Eberhardt could be brought in and SV Würmla was defeated on penalties in the preliminary round of the ÖFB Cup. The second round was surprising, however, as they beat WSG Wattens 3-2 at home . In the second round LASK Linz was waiting , but there was no chance and went down 4-1. A new floodlight system was opened towards the end of the season.

In 2002/03, as second behind the amateurs of Admira Wacker Mödling, they just missed promotion to the Regionalliga . In the ÖFB-Cup they were similarly successful, but in the third round, before they defeated SC Theresienfeld sovereignly as well as Gersthofer SV on penalties , it was over again, this time against SV Mattersburg, where it was a 9-1 debacle at home. It is also worth mentioning a 10: 1 victory over the rivals from Würmla and that the entire season, which is still the most successful of the club to this day, has only been played with local players.

10 years Landesliga Niederösterreich

The 2003/04 season, now ten years in the national league, was not necessarily one of Langenrohr's best. In the ÖFB Cup they surprisingly won 3-2 against SC Eisenstadt , but they were shot down 5-0 in the next round by SC Schwanenstadt . In addition, the arch-rival became champion. Named for the season, August Baumühlner also left the club after eleven years.

A top 3 placement was set as the goal for the next season, and this started well for the sports club. In the first match against SC Retz they got into the game well and were able to take the lead after five minutes through Peter Lackner , but Retz quickly equalized and was already 1: 4 behind from the 60th minute. But with goals from Stefan Maierhofer , Rudolf Ginsthofer and a double from Peter Riegler, the whole game could be turned around within 20 minutes and still won 5: 4. With the successful start of the season, they were able to climb to the top of the table with a win over Ardagger on the fourth matchday , where Peter Lackner, Stefan Maierhofer and Andreas Dospel, among others, were on the list of goalscorers. But the joy only fought for a short time, because the following games did not end well and so they found themselves in ninth position on matchday 12. But it was precisely against rival Tulln that the negative trend was ended thanks to a Maierhofer goal. The second half of the season was unspectacular and despite the temporary low of the season, the target was achieved. In the ÖFB Cup, however, they were eliminated in the preliminary round against SV Haitzendorf , where ex-Langenrohrer August Baumühlner was now a coach and player.

The 2005/06 season was a difficult season, as the longstanding supporters around Martin Eberhardt , Werner Ginsthofer, Helmut Hauser and Stefan Maierhofer , who made the leap abroad to FC Bayern Munich , left the club and left a big hole in the club Team left. In addition, they were on the relegation places when they suffered a 4-0 defeat at home against Tulln. But spurred on by the shame you could win the next five matches and work your way up to third place. The further course of the championship was unspectacular, the only thing worth mentioning would be the late victory by Roman Koch against arch rivals Tulln. A place in the ÖFB Cup was just missed. The ÖFB Cup draw started unhappily for Langenrohr, as the ninth of the Regionalliga West SPG Axams / Götzens had to play away in Tyrol. After an involuntary three-day trip to Innsbruck , they were able to return home to Tullnerfeld with a confident 2-1 win . But the second round was tough, because it was drawn from the Bundesliga club SK Sturm Graz . The match took place on October 18, 2005 at the sports facility in Langenrohr in front of 1200 spectators. The game was characterized by the fast goals on both sides, because after 25 minutes it was already 2-2. It stayed that way until half-time, but in the 57th minute, the former Bundesliga club Roman Koch was able to take the lead again for the outsider. In the 75th minute Herbert Rauter was able to equalize again for Graz, before Rainer Ginsthofer scored the fourth lead for Langenrohr shortly after the restart . The Grazers now in dire straits used every chance to equalize. And they achieved this through Diego Rottensteiner . With a score of 4: 4 it went into stoppage time, where the Graz team happily took the lead for the first time through Bojan Filipović . This was also the last action in the game and it ended with an unfortunate 4-5 defeat from the perspective of Langenrohr.

The 2006/07 season was a difficult season due to many long-term failures. Among other things, Roman Koch suffered a pulmonary embolism . In the end you could save yourself to the safe eighth place.

With the 2007/08 season, the former violet Anton Resch could be signed as a high-class reservist. In addition to the end of Martin Brozka's career, Roman Koch , Andreas Dospel and Michael Czarda also left the club. Markus Buchinger , Gernot Holcmann and Josef Baumühlner could be signed as additions . The coach's goal was to play for the championship title, but it soon became apparent that this would not be achievable in the medium term. After a moderate first half of the season, the coach Peter Lackner left the club, Martin Brozka and assistant coach Josef Dillinger took over the support on an interim basis. With the start of training on January 7, 2008, Josef Schuster was employed as a trainer. The second half of the season went better and you could finally qualify for the ÖFB Cup with sixth place.

The following season 2008/09 was a difficult one, because after five rounds they were beaten with zero points together with the Kremser SC , where the former Langenrohrer August Baumühlner was now on leave of the former head coach Michael Biebl, in last place. Josef Schuster was dismissed and Hannes Neumayer was appointed as a trainer due to the premature termination of the Cup. This was followed by a furious race to catch up, where, among other things, the future master Gaflenz was defeated away with a brace from Alexander Teufer. Another highlight was the construction of the eighth bar on the sports field in Langenrohr.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season, the reigning champions of Qatar al-Gharafa SC could be persuaded to play a preparatory game in Langenrohr. The previous coach Hannes Neumayer left the club at his own request, and Manfred Wachter was brought in to replace him . The season started as badly as last year, but it was possible to recover quickly and start another race to catch up. During the season Manfred Wachter left the club for personal reasons, so the assistant coach Christian Kreitzer and the goalkeeper coach Anton Resch had to lead the remaining three games. Initially classified by all experts as a relegated team, you could still finish the season in fifth place. In addition, the 500th national league match was played on April 30, 2010. The opponent was FC Mistelbach, who had no mercy and dealt with Langenrohr 3-0 at home.

The August Baumühlner era

In the 2010/11 season, a well-known Langenrohrer returned to the coaching bench after nine years: August Baumühlner. The aim of the board of directors was to form a young team with which one has nothing to do with relegation. With Stefan Kummerer (the brother of Roman Kummerer ), Fabian Samec and Alexander Gruber, relatively young players could be signed as additions , who would later become regular players. A relatively balanced season ended with ninth place.

The next season was shaped in a similar way to the previous one, only that we could improve by one place. The signing of the former Serbian U15 international Duško Petković is worth mentioning .

The 2012/13 season was marked by the frequent use of youth players, so six players from Langenrohr's U17 team were appointed to the matchday squad at the away match in Gaflenz . The match ended in a 4-0, with the 17-year-old and later regular player Andreas Zottl attracting attention with a hat trick. Also worth mentioning in this game is the average age of Langenrohr (ø21) in relation to Gaflenz (ø25), and that Langenrohr only used Austrians in this match.

The 2013/14 seasons, which have now been in the regional league for 20 years, and 2014/15 were unspectacular and each ended at the end of the season in the upper midfield. During the transfer period of the 2013/14 season, the regulars Patrick Novak, Fabian Samec, Alexander Gruber and Alexander Teufer left the club. The Slovak Viktor Kornaj could be engaged as additions . During the transfer period of the 2014/15 season Viktor Kornaj left again, Bernhard Briese, Christoph Wieser and the former youth international Phillip Wihro were brought in as replacements .

The 2015/16 season was a difficult season, but Robert Gruberbauer , Günther Arnberger , Marco Friedrich and Konstantin Breuer could still be signed. The only thing worth mentioning this season is Langenrohr's highest unofficial victory to date over ATSV Ober-Grafendorf , which was humiliated 14: 1. It should be noted that at Ober-Grafendorf hardly a player was playing on the actual fighting team at the time and the club went bankrupt a little later. Robert Gruberbauer scored the most goals in this game with five goals. A little later, after Ober-Grafendorf withdrew from the championship, all games in Ober-Grafendorf were canceled in the interests of fairness.

The 2016/17 season got off to a good start, with Günther Arnberger retained and Michael Schütz , Ehinabo Omoighe , Djuro Mihaljica , Vait Ismaili and, from Germany, the Slovak Andrej Nemec from FC 08 Tiengen . Konstantin Breuer had to be accepted as departures. After two victories in a row they found themselves in fourth place, but then a downward slide began, where they found themselves in 13th place at the end of the first half of the season. For a long time there was a risk of relegation, but this could be averted with a 2-0 win on the penultimate matchday at home against ASK Kottingbrunn for the time being. However, since Gaflenz was able to make 3-2 against Rohrendorf late, the chance of relegation was still there. In the last match of the season they faced SV Haitzendorf, the ex-club of coach August Baumühlner . With a defeat and at the same time victories of Waidhofen / Thaya, Gaflenz and St. Peter / Au you would have to be relegated to the penultimate. In Haitzendorf they found the game well and left the field as the leader at halftime through goals from Andreas Zottl and Robert Gruberbauer . But Haitzendorf was able to equalize the lead of the Langenrohrers after just ten minutes. The rest of the match was shaped by the tough style of play on both sides. But even a defeat would be enough to keep them up, as UFC St. Peter / Au was 2-0 behind in the parallel games against SC Retz . Nothing changed in the results, except that Retz increased to 3-0, which meant the final relegation.

Team picture of SV Langenrohr at the start of the second half of 2018

The 2017/18 season began with a team upheaval, with six players changing clubs and seven new players replacing the missing positions. In addition to Robert Gruberbauer , Ehinabo Omoighe and Michael Schütz , he left the club after 13 years and with over 300 games played for the sports club Andreas Koberger. As a replacement one signed among other things from the league competitor ASK Kottingbrunn Neven Juric and Robert Caljkusic. Despite the defeat in the first game, Langenrohr could be satisfied, in the meantime they moved up to second place. Before the end of the first half of the season they settled down to seventh place, while Slaven Lalic , also from Kottingbrunn, and Christoph Weber joined the club during the winter break . In the first game of the second half of the season they received an unfortunate draw against Spratzern. After 15 minutes, Christoph Wieser was able to bring Langenrohr into the lead until Frank Egharevba equalized in minute 50 . When a penalty was decided in favor of Langenrohr in the third minute of stoppage time, Christoph Graf parried Günther Arnberger's shot . In the following games you lost the constancy from the first half of the season and slipped to eleventh place. However, at the end of the season , eighth place could be achieved with a 3-2 win against SV Haitzendorf , which was then relegated.

Farewell to Andreas Dospel at the last home game

For the new 2018/19 season you had to accept the departure of top performers Günther Arnberger and Christoph Wieser , who scored the most goals for Langenrohr with 13 goals in the past season. The regular players Denis Husejnovic, Neven Juric and Thomas Teissl also left the club. As a replacement you could sign the goalkeeper from SV Leobendorf , the champion of the Landesliga Niederösterreich 2017/18, Karl-Heinz Gschwindl . The Bosnian Ratko Buljic, who had to serve a three-game ban at the beginning of the season, was signed as a replacement for Wieser. Furthermore, the club, among others, met Dimitri Chryssajis , Adrien Dauce and Alexander Graf, all of which counted during the season to the regulars. The summer test phase was successfully completed, including playing against the second division Young Violets Austria Wien and losing 2-1. The first championship game against SCU Ardagger was won 1-0 by a late goal by Andreas Zottl, the following first home match against ASV Spratzern even won 5-0. Slaven Lalic scored a hat trick in the game and was directly involved in creating the other two goals. With the fourth game at home against UFC St. Peter / Au , Buljic was able to make his debut after being suspended and single-handedly turned the game in favor of Langenrohr to a 2-1 win with two goals in stoppage time. Buljic was always able to build on his achievements in the following matches and in the meantime advanced to the top scorer list until he switched to the Regionalliga Ost for FC Marchfeld Donauauen in the winter transfer phase despite a two-year contract . In addition to Buljic, Chryssajis also left the club because he did not meet expectations and Dauce was able to assert himself in his position, the offensive midfield. Lukas Marschall from Kremser SC was brought back as a replacement after three and a half years. The second half of the season got off to a bad start, losing 2-1 to the relegation candidate Spratzern and losing six games in a row, some of them with heavy defeats. But on May 11th they were able to write again against second place in the table SC Retz and with a 2-0 win they were able to move away from the relegation places, the following match against the strong offensive team from Scheiblingkirchen could also be won 3-1. With the win against relegated FC Rohrendorf you could finally achieve relegation. At the last championship game against SV Gaflenz on June 7th, long-time captain Andreas Dospel played his last football game for Langenrohr at the age of 39. Dospel, whose brother Ernst played in the national team, played 396 games for Langenrohr in almost 16 years, where he scored 84 goals as a midfielder. Langenrohr finally finished the championship in tenth place.

In the summer of 2019, Langenrohr signed six new players, including Bernhard Kotynski , Lukáš Jacko, Fabio Rumpler and Christian Szalay, all of whom established themselves as regular players. In winter, the former Czech national player Marek Střeštík from the second Czech football league from SK Prostějov came into Tullnerfeld, five players were recorded as departures, including the previous starting eleven player Slaven Lalic , who joined SC Korneuburg . The start of the new season began embarrassed, the first match against the title candidate SKN St. Pölten II ended in a 2-2 draw. Two wins and six defeats were followed by six more draws in the first half of the season, especially the defeats against the last-placed Spratzern and Ortmann stood out negatively in the course of the championship. By signing the former professional footballer Střeštík, Langenrohr was prepared for the relegation battle, but after one game the season was initially interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately canceled on April 15, 2020, like all amateur football leagues in Austria. At the time the season ended, Langenrohr was in twelfth place and thus dangerously close to the relegation places. Due to the uncertain situation with regard to renewed border closings, the association unintentionally separated from Střeštík. This was followed by the departure of other top performers, such as Karl-Heinz Gschwindl , Christian Szalay and, after ten years, the captain Stefan Kummerer. The club signed four players from direct league competitors to replace them, so Markus Geppl ( Kremser SC ), Philipp Koglbauer (USV Scheiblingkirchen), Sebastian Schauffler (ASV Spratzern) and Paul Weissensteiner ( SC Retz ) moved to Langenrohr.

In the table of the Landesliga Niederösterreich from the 1990/91 season onwards, Langenrohr is undisputedly in first place with 790 games played; this accounts for 317 wins, 213 draws, 260 defeats, which results in 1139 points. In all the games a total of 1253 goals were scored and 1,135 goals conceded.

ÖFB Cup participation

Langenrohr took part in the ÖFB Cup several times . In the seasons 1994/95 , 1996/97 , 1997/98 , 2001/02 , 2001/02 , 2002/03 and 2005/06 they failed only in the second round (2005 with a 4-5 defeat at SK Sturm Graz ).
