The SV Leobendorf savings (up to 2018 SV Haas Leobendorf) is a football club from the Lower Austrian Leobendorf in district Korneuburg . The club belongs to the Lower Austrian Football Association (NÖFV) and will play in the third highest performance level, the Regionalliga Ost , from the 2018/19 season .

history

SV Leobendorf was founded in 1933. From 1945 they finally took part in the championship operation. After playing in the North group and 1st class , you had to relegate to 2nd class in 1950 . Between 1951 and 1953, the men's team was even completely stopped. From the 1953/54 season, they finally took part again in the 2nd class. In 1956 he was promoted back to 1st class with a five-point lead over his pursuer Ulrichskirchen.

From 1958 one took part in the new group Wagram . There they were able to become champions in 1960 with four points ahead of SV Spillern and thus move up to the second division . From 1962 they took part again in a new division, this time in the minor league . After eight seasons in the minor league, however, you had to go to 1st class in 1970. In 1973 they were able to get promoted again with one point ahead of SV Horn .

1975/76 you could qualify for a third place in the lower league for the new upper league . In the league, however, one stayed only briefly; after one season they played again in the minor league. In 1978, however, they were promoted again and from now on they could keep themselves in the league. In 1985/86 they finished fifth in the Oberliga Ost and were thus eligible to start in the new 2nd regional league . There you could immediately become champions with four points ahead of pursuers Ternitz and thus move up to the 1st regional league. After nine years in the 1st regional league, you had to return to the 2nd regional league in 1996 as a knocked-down bottom.

In 1999, however, you could move up again. The last descent so far followed in 2010; however, they only played one season in the 2nd national league before they were promoted again.

The 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons achieved the greatest successes in the club's history at that time; as runner-up behind the SKN St. Pölten Juniors and the SC Mannsdorf , they only just missed promotion to the regional league .

Leobendorf has also taken part in the ÖFB Cup several times . The greatest success so far was achieved in 2016/17 : In the first round, the regional division USV Allerheiligen was defeated on penalties; in the second round they only narrowly failed with a 0: 1 at the Europa League participants SK Rapid Vienna .

In the 2017/18 season, Leobendorf was able to advance to the regional league for the first time as champions of the 1st regional league due to the better goal difference in front of second-placed SV Stripfing .
