The ASK-BSC Bruck / Leitha is a football club from the Lower Austrian Bruck an der Leitha in the district of the same name . The club belongs to the Lower Austrian Football Association (NÖFV) and will play in the third highest performance level, the Regionalliga Ost , from the 2017/18 season .

history

The predecessors of the ASK-BSC Bruck / Leitha have a long history, but the current form of the ASK-BSC was created in 1983 through the merger of the ASK Bruck / Leitha and the Brucker Sport Club .

In the year of the merger, they took part in the ÖFB Cup for the first time. There Bruck had to admit defeat to FK Austria Wien 0:16 in the first main round . In 1988 Bruck was able to move up to the regional league as Lower Austrian regional champion with three points ahead of pursuers ASK Ybbs . After the Brucker almost relegated in the debut season as 14th, they reached the respectable tenth place in the second season. In 1992, the club escaped relegation as 13th with only one point ahead of the relegation ranks. The 1992/93 season was more successful; At the end of the season, Bruck was in seventh place. After twelfth place in 1994, he even came third in 1995 behind the Favoritner AC and SV Mattersburg . The dreams of promotion were quickly over: After Bruck was tenth in 1996, the club had to relegate in 1997 as the penultimate from the regional league.

In 2000 it went even deeper: As the penultimate in the regional league , Bruck had to move into the second regional league. The next setback followed in 2004: With 13th place, the relegation to the sixth-class regional league followed .

In 2007, however, Bruck was able to become champion of the regional league South / Southeast and thus rise again to the 2nd regional league. In 2016, the club was able to prevail against SK Eggenburg in the relegation and thus play again in the fourth-highest division.

Promotion to the Regionalliga 2017

After only one season, with a squad strengthened by former professionals, the Lower Austrian champions could be promoted back to the regional league after 20 years. In a heart-stopping final they prevailed against the competitor SV Leobendorf due to the better goal difference . The Leobendorfer were still leading the table on the penultimate matchday, but Bruck won 6-1 against FC Moser Medical Rohrendorf , while Leobendorf only won 3-1 against SV Stripfing , thus overtaking Leobendorf.

The 2017/18 season got off to a promising start. The Bruckers were able to prevail in the Uniqa ÖFB Cup in the promoted to the Landesliga Burgenland , the SC Bad Sauerbrunn, with a clear 4-0 and thus made it to the second round. There the favored FC Red Bull Salzburg only managed to beat the team 3-1 in extra time.
