Mario Sara (born February 21, 1982 ) is an Austrian football player .
Career
He began his career in the youth of FK Austria Wien . In 2001 he came to FC Tirol , with whom he became Austrian champion in 2002 and made two appearances himself.
He then moved to FC Lustenau 07 for two years in 2002 until he went to SCR Altach in 2004 , where he won the championship title in the second-class first division and thus promotion to the Bundesliga in the 2005/06 season . In May 2006 Mario Sara switched to SK Rapid Vienna . Sara drew attention in the league mainly with his dangerous free kicks with his left foot. In 2008 he was again Austrian champion, this time he had four appearances.
After Mario Sara was unable to assert himself in the Bundesliga at Rapid, he returned to the first division in 2008 and accepted an offer from FC Wacker Innsbruck . Sara was with FC Wacker Innsbruck in the 2009/10 season with two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling champion of the second-rate Austrian first division and thus rose with the team in the Bundesliga.
Before the start of the 2010/11 season , the 28-year-old moved to Liechtenstein for FC Vaduz . The trained midfielder was retrained to become a central defender and stayed there for five years before moving to Burgenland for SC Ritzing at the 2015 season change . In July 2017, the 35-year-old moved to SV Wimpassing . For the 2018/19 season he moved to the regional league team ASK-BSC Bruck / Leitha .

Personal
Today he lives with his wife Carina and their daughter in Hornstein am Neufelder See . His father is the former Austria player Josef Sara and his uncle is the former national team captain Robert Sara .
