René Herbst (born March 18, 1986 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Herbst began his career at the Favoritner AC . For the 1998/99 season he moved to the youth team at SK Rapid Vienna . In February 2000 he moved to FC Stadlau . For the 2000/01 season he returned to FavAC, where he later also played in the combat team. In January 2004 he switched to IC favorites . After three and a half seasons at IC, he returned to FavAC for the 2007/08 season.

For the 2008/09 season he moved to the regional division Wiener Sportklub . After one and a half years at the WSK, he moved to the fourth-class 1st Simmeringer SC in January . In a year and a half in Simmering he made 44 appearances in the Vienna City League , in which he scored 14 goals. With Simmering he rose to the regional league in 2011 . For the 2011/12 season, he joined the neo-league rivals Floridsdorfer AC . With the Floridsdorfern he rose to the 2nd division in 2014 . He made his debut in the second-highest division in July 2014 when he was in the starting line-up against SC Austria Lustenau on the first day of the 2014/15 season . On the following day he scored his first and only second division goal in a 1-1 draw against FC Liefering .

After a total of 106 league appearances for the FAC, in which he scored 13 goals, Herbst switched to the fifth-rate SV Stripfing in January 2015 . With Stripfing he rose to the state league in 2016 . In 2019 he was promoted to the regional league. However, he was no longer to take part in this, after 122 fourth and fifth division appearances for the Lower Austrians, he switched to fourth-class ASK Kottingbrunn for the 2019/20 season . For Kottingbrunn he came to 14 missions in the national league, in which he scored five goals. For the 2020/21 season he moved to the regional league team ASK-BSC Bruck / Leitha .
