Marek Střeštík (born February 1, 1987 in Komárno ) is a Czech football player .
Club career
Marek Střeštík was born in Komárno, Slovakia , and began playing football at the local KFC at the age of nine. In 2001 he moved to the youth department of the FK ZTS Dubnica . Two years later the striker was signed by the Czech club 1. FC Synot from Uherské Hradiště . In January 2005 Střeštík moved to Slovan Liberec . In his third-class B-team he came to his first assignments in the men's area. In the summer of 2005, the attacker changed clubs again and joined 1. FC Brno .
On May 6, 2006 Marek Střeštík made his debut in the game of his club at Slavia Prague in the Gambrinus League , in the 2005/06 season it was the only use of the 1.88 meter tall striker. In the 2006/07 season Střeštík was mostly part of the regular Brno line-up, scoring three goals in 22 games.
In June 2009 Střeštík was loaned to Sparta Prague for the 2009/10 season. The attacker returned to Brno for the 2010/11 season. During the winter break of the 2019/20 season, Strestik moved to the Lower Austria regional league at SV Langenrohr . Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Strestik was only used in the championship. In the summer of 2020, Strestik will leave the Austrian association due to the unclear situation regarding possible border closings due to the corona virus.
National team
Marek Střeštík played for the U-16, U-17 and U-18 national teams of Slovakia. After moving to the Czech Republic, he took Czech citizenship. He represented his new home in the U-19 national team, with which he won the bronze medal at the 2006 European Championships . Marek Střeštík was in the squad of the Czech U-20 selection at the 2007 Junior World Cup in Canada , which was runner-up. On March 26, 2008 made his debut in the Czech national team , which reached a 1-1 draw in a friendly against the Danish selection .
